In summer 2014, Monte-Carlo Auction House began working with Mr Cyril Boulay, an expert in Russian art and historical memorabilia. It is a specialism that relies on the dynamism of a community that is well established in Monaco and on the French Riviera. Regular advertising in the Russian media and the fact that some staff speak the language have brought the Slavic soul to the quayside two or three times a year. Silverware, icons, paintings and furniture – from Fabergé to Kustodiev, all aspects of Russian art are showcased. In 2019, the first part of a private English collection featuring a thousand antique works relating exclusively to the Ballets Russes and the Monte-Carlo Opera was sold… The next part will follow in 2021.
