Sculptée dans une même pierre de cristal de roche, cette bague est constituée d’un large anneau de forme arrondie à l’extérieur et applatie à l’intérieur.
Les épaules très larges et le chaton de grande dimension sont des caractéristiques des productions hellénistiques. La partie creuse du chaton devait être ornée d’une pierre ou d’une pâte de verre.

A LATE HELLENISTIC ROCK CRYTSAL RING WITH LARGE OVAL BEZEL, 2ND CENTURY B.C.

Sculpted in a unique crystal rock this ring is composed by a large hoop rounded wi- thout and flatten within. The large recessed bezel would have held a stone or glass setting. The large size and distinctive thick shouldered hoop are typical of Hellenistic finger rings made in a variety of media, including gold, glass and rock crystal.
