Sculpté en relief dans un panneau rectangulaire, Francesco Sforza est présenté de profil vers la droite.
Le portrait de grande finesse demeure fidèle aux représentations du duc de Milan dans la force de l’âge, au point culminant de son pouvoir et de ses fonctions politique — voir les médailles à son effigie (fig.1).
Notre relief est à rapprocher d’une oeuvre réalisée par Gian Cristoforo Romano, conservée au Musée National du Bargello (fig.2).

Sculpted in relief in a rectangular panel, Francesco Sforza is shown in profile turned to the right.
The portrait of great finesse remains faithful to representations of the Duke of Milan at the peak of his power and political influence — see the medals with his effigy (fig. 1)
The presented relief can be compared to a work by Gian Cristoforo Romano, conserved at the National Museum of Bargello (fig. 2)
