Christ flanked by winged angels. The ring consists of an oval bezel
supported on a hoop divided in two when it joins the bezel. The bezel
bears the inscription BEAT ICON and a depiction of enthroned Christ
or, perhaps more likely, the Virgin Mary, flanked by angels. One angel
bears a palm frond. The back of the hoop has a small cross. To each
side of the bezel is a small setting (now crushed) retaining a damage
pearl. Ca. 10th - 12th century A.D. Accompanied with an expertise of Dr.
Jack Ogden from July 2021.
