Origin :
Collection of the Infante don Luis de Borbon y Farnesio, Arenas, Palace of the Mosquera, until 1785, inventory after death in 1787 by descent to his widow until 1820, then collection of the Majorat de Chinchon at the Palace of Boadilla del Monte (his CC brand). Probably in the 1826 inventory of the palace of Boadilla del Monte, in the ladies' antechamber: "a painting with a ragged dwarf, with a gilded frame, more than five cuartos high" (105 cm). Probably appears in Boadilla's inventories of 1847, and of 1888 at n°153 "Sasso, napolitain, Un nain" sale in Monaco, Christie's, December 7, 1987, n°50 sale in Paris, Artcurial, June 19, 2012, n °36.
