Bibliography
C. Emmendörffer, Hans Kemmer. Ein Lübecker Maler der Reformationszeit, Leipzig, 1997, cited p. 96, reproduced in fig. 33 (workshop of Lucas Cranach the Elder, Hans Hemmer?, around 1520). We thank Professor Dr. Koepplin for having, on a photo, proposed the attribution of our painting to Hans Kemmer and for having provided us with the information in this file. He situates our painting around 1525, painted outside Cranach's studio in Lübeck.
At the recent exhibition at the Saint Anne-Museum in Lübeck, Lucas Cranach der Altere und Hans Kammer - Meistermaler zwischen Renaissance und Reformation were exhibited two versions of Christ and the Adulteress by Hans Kemmer.
