Rock crystal and amethyst beads
L. 50 cm
Peru, Chavin Culture, 1200-400 BC
It is composed of many abnormally large rock crystal beads, alternating with tubular beads and amethysts, about sixty in all.
Despite their great hardness, 7 to 7,5 on the hardness scale, they were cut and polished by hand, which represents a real feat and unfailing patience.
One will notice the opposite conical openings of each stone, a characteristic of authenticity in the chavin and in the mochica.
The clasp is gold
