Origin
Former French collection, from a private mansion in the 17th arrondissement in Paris, acquired before 2000, transmitted by descent.
Central part of a sarcophagus lid facade with, in a molded cornice, a tabula inscriptionis, separated from the figurative scene.
The scene represents a harvest scene, three male figures, one of whom is on a ladder, picking up the grapes. In the field to the right, a Hermaic pillar with a Dionysian (?) head.
The NTHIVM inscription (probably posthumous and irrelevant).
