The bust carved in a block of granite was to be part of a seated statue of a dignitary. The figure wears a wig that is ridged to the shoulders and tucked behind large ears. His eyes are almond shaped with hemmed eyelids. Her arched eyebrows are modeled in slight relief, raised and descending towards the temples. His (missing) nose is wide with a crease of flesh visible on his cheeks, and his lower lip is thicker than his upper lip. The lower lip is also heavily incised. The torso is naked and the outline of the arms well drawn. His left hand is placed flat on his chest.
Stylistic features such as the anatomy of the ears, the style of the wig, and the mature facial features hark back to Middle Kingdom productions.
