L'une des caractéristiques remarquables de la culture bactrienne Margiana est l'abondance d'images de tulipes (fig.2), réalisées selon différentes techniques et présentées avec une fiabilité suffisante, plante que l'on rencontre encore à Gonur. Des recherches montrent l'existence de rituels associés à la renaissance de la nature, réalisés au moment de la floraison des tulipes.
