Figurée de profil v. la droite, la chevelure parée d'une couronne de pampres de vigne et son drapé agrémenté sur l'épaule droite d'une peau animale figurant une tête et des pattes de bélier, le tout exécité dans la dernière strate de la pierre de couleur miel. Le contraste marqué entre le fond noir, la blancheur immaculée de la figure et la tonalité miel de ses attributs attestent de la grande qualité d'exécution du camée. Luigi Michelini né à Rome, fut élève de Girometti.

MICHELINI LUIGI (Rome, 1798-1858), A Early 19th Century three-layered agate cameo mounted on a modern massive gold ring. Bust of Bacchante. Figured in profile v. the right, the hair adorned with a crown of vine branches and its drapery decorated on the right shoulder with an animal skin representing a ram's head and legs, all executed in the last layer of the honey-colored stone . The marked contrast between the black background, the immaculate whiteness of the figure and the honey tone of its attributes attest to the high quality of execution of the cameo. Luigi Michelini, born in Rome, was a student of Girometti.
