Pilier djed avec couronne atef en faïence, Musée du Louvre, n°4544
Ce pilier en forme de tronc ébranché symbolise la colonne vertébrale d'Osiris et dans ce cas, surmonté par la couronne atef. Il est utilisé comme objet rituel dans les mystères du Dieu des Morts. Dans un contexte funéraire, le pilier djed protégeait les défunts dans l'Amdouat.

An Egyptian Late Period bronze djed-pillar with atef crown. Ca 664-525 B.C.
This pillar which symbolized the backbone of Osiris, is surmounted by the atef crown. Served as a ritual object during the mysteries of the god of the dead. In a funerary context,it would have protected the deceased in the life in the Hereafter.
