Le fragment présent figure les jambes du satyre et futur musicien Marsyas,
attaché à un arbre et écorché après avoir perdu une bataille musicale face à
Apollon. Dans cet exemple, la peau ensanglantée est rendue par le marbre
giallo antico, caractérisé par une couleur jaune, traversé de veines rouges.

The fragment presenting the legs of the satyr and would-be musician Marsyas,
tied to a tree and flayed after losing a music battle to Apollo. In this example
the bloodied skin is rendered by the giallo antico marble, characterized by a
yellow colour, crossed by red veins.
